LEGACY CHARITY FUN DAY
The Legacy Phoenix Youth Committee held its 1st Annual “For The Children” Sports Fun Day on Saturday 14th July, 2007 at WITCO sports ground. Thirty-one children, with ages ranging from three to eighteen years, from the Amica Home for Girls and the Joshua Home for Boys participated.
The children were divided into three teams named Yellow Birds, Lucky Charms and Raging Bulls respectively, each led by two members of the Legacy Phoenix Committee. The children demonstrated their skills, talents and team spirit in a March Past, Track & Field events, traditional fun events such as egg and spoon race, sack race, tug-a-war and even a dance-off, in which everyone including committee members and Big Mike participated. Each child received a certificate of participation, and prizes in the form of toys, medals and trophies were awarded for each event courtesy Legacy.
A great time was had by all – it was truly a day of fun, laughter and sharing. The Committee would like to say a special “thank-you” to the sponsors who contributed to the event as well as to DJ Titan who provided some great music that day. Your contributions surely helped to put a smile on these young faces. Thanks also to the children and care-takers of the Amica and Joshua Homes who made this day possible!
